Contemporary is believed to have started between 1950 and 1970 in Europe and America.

Contemporary has no fixed vocabulary and dancers believe that ethical and emotional performance comes higher than the resulting product.

In the above video, Briar Nolet is performing a dance called 'Unstoppable'. She won 1st place with this solo when she was only 16!
